YouTube Lead Generation Strategies for Local Businesses



The main focus will be on using YouTube to get leads from videos. Now there are other platforms we recommend using to market your business such as tictok, vimeo, and rumble to name just a few. There are a few reasons why YouTube is the most recommended platform one being its size as it gets over 2 billion views per month and it is a search engine which will allow you to optimize your videos rankings.

Now why video marketing! Number one it is the best way to connect with people. If someone watches you on video they will get to feel like they know you. Now if you compare that to a lead that someone buys from Home Advisor or Thumbtack you are just another name and phone number.

Now it is very inexpensive to get started as all you will need is a phone with a video recorder an iPad will do along with a tripod and a microphone.

As I mentioned earlier YouTube is a search engine for videos and it can be optimized. Now you may already have a YouTube account an you may have videos of your kids or maybe some of a hobby you may have. You are going to want to create a new channel for that particular business. Your channel has to be niche focused. As part of its ranking factors YouTube looks at its relevancy as part of its ranking factors and the channel the video is on is part of its relevancy.

Now do not be too concerned with the quality of the video. Meaning do not be too concerned with the lighting or the sound. You do need lighting and sound but the viewers realize you are not a videographer. More than likely the person watching the video is trying to solve a problem he has and you are solving his problem.  Also do not make super long videos. The maximum length of a video should be about 5 minutes. If you create a 10-minute video, just cut it in half and make it 2 videos. Ideally you will want about 20 videos and they will cover a wide range of subjects pertaining to whatever home service business you are in.

The key to getting more views on YouTube is not to make good videos. It is not how loud you are the key is tagging the videos with detail rich identifying information. You are basically making your video searchable for the catalog of viewers searching for videos such as the one you just made.

How do you optimize your video? #1 you have to name your video. When you name your video you should use one major keyword in the title of the video. For example, if you are an epoxy flooring contractor a major keyword is epoxy floors. So that is a good word keyword to use in a title. It also important that you add the city and state to the video title. This way the video will show up when people do local searches. YouTube will also ask for a description of your video. You have up to 5000 characters. Make sure you put your Facebook page in there as well as your Google My Business page as well as your phone number.

You will also want to put a call to action in the description meaning call me at this number. You are also going to have a video transcription or a transaction make sure you have some of your main keywords there as well.

If you are wondering what to make the videos on if you are selling a service, you are normally asked the same questions all of the time. Just make videos of questions that your sales prospects normally have. These should be what the videos are about. You are just educating your prospect.
